Emergency Procedures

In the event of a fire discovery, follow these steps:

  • Evacuate the fire area immediately, ensuring the safety of all individuals. Close doors to contain the fire.

  • Activate the building fire alarm system by using the nearest fire alarm station as you exit.

  • Call the Fire Department at 911 once you are in a safe location. Provide them with your building's location and floor number.

  • Only attempt to extinguish the fire if you are trained and confident to do so, and if it does not block your exit route.

  • Use stairways for evacuation; avoid elevators. If smoke is present in stairways, seek an alternate exit.

  • Do not re-enter the building until it has been cleared as safe by the Fire Department.

REMAIN CALM

Please be aware that doors equipped with electromagnetic locking devices will automatically unlock upon activation of the fire alarm system. These doors will be marked with a sign stating "Emergency Exit Unlocked by Fire Alarm."

  • Familiarize yourself with your responsibilities in the event of a fire within the building.

  • Always keep fire doors closed to maintain fire containment.
